Ideas and fixes

A desktop window and tray icon for the recorder app, arriving through its normal automatic update

The recorder app has no window today. Its controls live on your profile page and only work in some browsers after a permission prompt. We are building a desktop window with a tray icon on Windows and a menu bar icon on macOS. - See whether the app is linked to your account, which game folder and addon it uses, and each save with its last send. - Send now, pause, turn automatic updates and start at login on or off, update now, and open your records on the site. - The window comes in the site's ten languages and follows the game's look. If you already run the app, the window arrives with its next automatic update. You do not need to reinstall, link again or lose your upload history.

Read more item names in your chosen language

Recognize items by their game names when reading German, Spanish, French, Korean, Portuguese, Russian or Chinese pages. We plan to fill missing translations that currently leave English names inside otherwise localized guides and item lists. The same name will appear on the item page and its preview cards. Existing translations will remain authoritative, and an item without a supported translation will retain its known English name.

Limit quest browsing to the Forever beta’s level range

Follow quest links without being sent toward adventures above the Forever beta’s level 30 limit. We are removing those quests from browsing and search, together with references that would lead to unavailable pages. Remaining quest chains and dungeon preparation steps will keep their useful links. An old address for a removed quest will explain that the page is unavailable rather than suggest the quest is currently playable.

Keep beta browsing focused on reachable items and recipes

Browse items and recipes that are relevant to the level 30 Forever beta. We are removing unreachable higher-level records while retaining items players have actually encountered or that supported recipes and rewards need. Existing equipment and crafting plans will keep their remaining choices when a removed item disappears. A notice will explain the adjustment, rather than leaving the whole plan unusable.

Use familiar game and community terms throughout every translation

Read interface wording that matches how your game and fellow players describe the same concept. We plan to extend terminology corrections beyond the main glossary into controls, introductions and page descriptions. The same concept will retain consistent wording across the site. Where one English word has different meanings, the translation will follow the intended game context rather than a misleading literal match.

Locate quest givers and turn-ins on the game zone map

See a quest giver or turn-in position on the appropriate game zone map beside its name and coordinates. We plan to make each pin a useful link with a preview of the same NPC. Desktop pages will keep the map stable while its image loads. Phone readers will retain the location text, and missing localized art will not be replaced by a misleading map.

Report mistakes and follow site suggestions in one feedback portal

Report an incorrect value, describe a bug or vote on a site improvement through the feedback portal. We plan to make it reachable from navigation and from the entry you are reading. Reports will keep the relevant page context, and earlier feedback will retain its authors and reachable links. Player discussions and shared builds will remain separate from suggestions directed to the site team.

See dungeon level ranges within the current beta limits

Check a dungeon level range before deciding where to run. We plan to add supported ranges to dungeon pages while keeping them within the beta level cap. The range will belong to the actual dungeon rather than a similarly named entry. Where the information is still unknown, the page will not invent levels that could send your group to an unsuitable run.

Zoom through clear Forever terrain with responsive map controls

Zoom toward a destination while keeping map detail readable and movement responsive to wheel or trackpad input. We plan to group useful markers by the job you are doing rather than crowd the map with unexplained controls. Your selected location will remain stable as you change layers or reverse a zoom. Overlapping names will wait for space instead of obscuring nearby places.

Understand unnamed quest steps through their actual objectives

Read an understandable quest step even when its title is unavailable. We plan to use the game objective or known giver and zone context rather than display an unexplained number or invent a name. The same label will appear in search and on the quest page. Long objectives will wrap, and following the step will preserve the correct quest and your return position.

Read quest lines and return to the same step

Follow a quest story through its objectives and related steps, with links to givers and rewards. We plan to distinguish the order of a story from requirements that actually unlock a quest. Checking a related entry and going back will restore your reading position. The reference will work without sign-in or manual completion marks, while earlier saved records remain preserved.

The recorder app and the site keep working when Forever leaves beta, with tamper-proof updates

The recorder app that sends your game data to the site only recognised the beta client. A launch or even a new beta patch would have stopped uploads without a word. We are fixing that. - The list of accepted game clients and realms now comes from the site. A launch needs a data update, not a new app. - The site accepts saves from any listed client, and new realms show their auction houses right away. - If the app finds a game client it does not recognise, it names it instead of going quiet. - App updates are signed. In testing, an altered or unsigned update was refused, and a valid one installed. These changes reach players with the next app release, which installed copies pick up on their own. A translated message on the site for unrecognised clients is still to come.

Item price charts now show the vendor price and the disenchant value next to the lowest buyout

An item's price chart used to show only the lowest buyout and the supply. It now adds two lines, so you can compare the cheapest listing with the other ways to turn the item into gold. - Sell Price: what a vendor pays for the item, as a flat line. - Disenchant: the expected value of the materials from disenchanting one item on the chosen auction house, each material priced at its lowest buyout. For example, a Notched Shortsword shows a sell price of 2 silver 44 copper and a disenchant value of 1 silver 37 copper. Both lines are labelled on the price scale and in the status line, in all ten languages, on desktop and phone. Disenchant yields currently follow the original Classic tables until recorded Forever disenchants are available.

Plan recipe batches and follow missing materials without losing your work

Choose recipe quantities once and see combined material requirements with optional owned-stock subtraction. We are keeping yield, reusable crafting tools and relevant crafter choices beside the recipe. Follow an ingredient to its source and return to the same batch. Shared links will preserve your choices without silently replacing newer local work, and invalid or unfinished quantity entry will remain recoverable.

Discover dungeon creatures beyond the encounters named in a guide

See the creatures Forever players actually meet inside a dungeon, including those outside the guide’s named bosses and trash groups. We are adding their observed levels to dungeon pages when recorded runs provide them. An empty observation history will not become a guessed creature list. As players explore, the guide can gain useful encounter context grounded in that dungeon rather than unrelated outdoor sightings.

Focus page wording on useful game facts and actions

Read clear game information instead of generic filler or distracting technical notices. We plan to keep page titles and controls consistent with the actual content and action available. Original game wording will remain intact where it carries meaning. The result should make the released site easier to read and use without changing facts merely to force a uniform writing pattern.

Understand how player data is used and the terms of using the site

Find a privacy notice that explains the actual use of sign-in information, saved plans and community contributions, including character information you choose to share. We are clarifying visibility, retention and available rights. The terms will also explain acceptable use, contributed content and account closure. These pages will describe the service players use rather than leave essential expectations scattered across unrelated screens.

Include missing Warden’s Signets and arcanums in enchant choices

Find applicable gear enchants missing from the builder, including Warden’s Signets and newer Zul’Gurub arcanums such as Presence of Might. We plan to connect each supported enchant to the item that applies it. The choice will appear for the correct equipment slot with available source information. Unobtainable placeholder entries will stay out, so additional coverage does not become a misleading list of options.

The home page explains how recorded play helps you and other players

Discover the optional recorder from the home page and read its guide in any supported language. The guide explains character profiles, linked planning and the game discoveries shared with other players. Windows and macOS downloads are available beside that explanation. Changing language keeps you on the same guide, with its own artwork and wording rather than an unrelated installation page.

Item and quest lists hide above-level-30 entries by default

Browse Items or Quests with entries above the Forever beta level cap hidden by default. A filter lets you show every level when you want to look further ahead. The choice stays in the shared address and survives reload. Higher-level entries retain their own pages, so existing links remain useful even when those entries are outside the default list.

Read complete item tooltips, including missing stats and effects

Hover an item and read the useful lines shown by the game, including supported durability, percentage bonuses and effects missing from simpler descriptions. We are improving entries such as Hammer of Orgrimmar without guessing absent values. A requirement colored for one observed character will not be presented as applying to everyone. The tooltip will keep the item’s actual facts distinct from personal eligibility.

Quest pages distinguish known Forever facts from missing answers

Quest pages show facts recorded in Forever and identify answers that are not yet known. Known givers and turn-in locations connect to the relevant map, while an unsupported location or requirement is not presented as confirmed. Translated names appear where available. A missing translation retains the known name instead of substituting an unrelated quest or inventing a localized answer.

Traded items and same-name variants retain pages and auction prices

Find items players actually own or trade even when another item shares their name. Shared pages now keep each distinct version’s full name, tooltip and sources, with prices combined only for genuinely identical versions. Entries such as Dark Iron Leather and Gloves of Old are no longer lost through overly broad exclusion. Search lists the shared page once, and older addresses continue to reach the appropriate item.

Item, spell and enchantment pages put their defining facts first

Read a focused item, spell or enchantment page without unrelated planning controls above the answer. Item effects and acquisition details now lead, while crafting uses and compatible enchantments remain connected below. Spell effects and ranks use readable grouped rows, and enchantments show their reagents and skill ranges. The layouts retain game artwork and wrap their content on smaller screens without requiring the full database to open an item.

Builds include legal enchants, set bonuses and source-based gear choices

Equip compatible enchants and see the set bonuses completed by your chosen pieces. The builder now connects candidates to their drop, quest or crafting sources and lets you sort around the stat you value. Published builds carry a role and purpose, with filters for finding relevant examples in each supported language. Item and enchantment pages link to builds that actually use them.
